Vlatko Ilievski unexpectedly passes away, aged just 33

Singer found dead in Skopje

Sad news has reached us today. Macedonian singer Vlatko Ilievski has passed away. The rock singer was just 33 years of age.

Five days after his birthday

According to Sitel, the singer was found dead this morning. Police officers found Ilievski in his car on 3rd Macedonian Brigade Boulevard. So far, no comment has been made on the potential cause of death. The horrible news of Vlatko Ilievski’s passing comes just five days after his birthday. On 2nd July, he turned 33.

Rusinka

Vlatko Ilievski is famous in the Eurovision Song Contest world for taking part in the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf. There, he sang his song Rusinka. Unfortunately, he did not make it to the Grand Final. With 36 points, they finished in sixteenth. In 2015 he once again tried to go the Eurovision Song Contest when MRT hosted their Skopje Fest. In that show, he finished in last place with Sever-Jug.

Ilievski’s career started when he was just fifteen years of age, back in 2000. He then won two prizes at the Macedonian Rock Fest. Among his great successes, he had a concert with fellow Eurovision entrant Tamara Todevska. They then performed a concert in front of over 10,000 spectators. Two of his last singles celebrated his home country, being Makedonka and Viva Makedonija. He didn’t release any new material in the past two years.
