🇸🇪 Hanna Ferm releases new single “I Met Somebody” with John De Sohn

It’s New Music Friday and this week we have been treated to a new single from 2019 and 2020 Melodifestivalen finalist Hanna Ferm. The “Brave” singer has released a collaboration with Swedish DJ John De Sohn entitled “I Met Somebody” and is the follow-up single to Hanna’s summer track “Sweet Temptation”.

A frequent Melodifestivalen collaborator

“I Met Somebody” is a euphoric dance-pop crossover, a sound that John De Sohn has made his own for many years now. Indeed, he has worked with other Melodifestivalen acts besides Hanna. In 2013, he collaborated with Kristin Amparo on “Dance Our Tears Away”. Five years later, he teamed up with Hanna’s 2019 Melodifestivalen duet partner Liamoo on “Forever Young”.

De Sohn’s new track was written and composed by himself alongside long-time collaborator Andreas Moe as well as Willemijn May, Galeyn Tenhaeff and Nick Furlong. Mastering for the track was conducted by Holger Lagerfeldt.

Hanna’s rise to success

Ferm rose to fame in her native Sweden after finishing as runner-up in the 2017 season of Swedish Idol. She scored her first major Swedish chart hit with “Hold You”, her collaboration with Liamoo which placed third in Melodifestivalen 2019. Her second top-five chart hit came a year later following the fourth-place finish of “Brave” at Melodifestivalen 2020. In June 2020, Ferm released “Sweet Temptation”, a track co-written with Melodifestivalen 2020 runner-up Dotter.
