After internally selecting Eleni Foureira as the Cypriot representative, questions about how her fiery track “Fuego” will be staged in Lisbon have been circulating the Eurovision bubble.
However, the speculations can now be put to rest as Sacha Jean-Baptiste reveals the ongoing preparations regarding Eleni’s performance via Instagram.

⚡️EUROVISION TIMES⚡️ We are MAD excited to announce that we are creating the performance for Cyprus this year working with Miss FIERCE @foureira with the song “FUEGO”. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 1st day of rehearsal ✔️ • • • #creativedirector #choreographer #artisticdirector #live #stage #eurovision
Knowing some of Sacha’s previous work and combining it with Eleni’s stage presence, we are certainly in for a treat.
Sacha Jean-Baptiste and Eurovision
Delivering one memorable stage show after another, Sacha is probably the go to person every single delegation would like to have on their team. Some of her previous work include various successful Eurovision performances.
Only last year, she was responsible for staging Bulgaria’s “Beautiful Mess”, Australia’s “Don’t Come Easy”, Armenia’s “Fly With Me”and Georgia’s “Keep The Faith”.
This won’t be the first time the beautiful island of Cyprus has Sacha aboard on their Eurovision project. As a matter of fact, the first collaboration resulted with a continuous qualification streak as Minus One entered the grand final of the contest.
About Eleni Foureira’s Fuego
“Fuego” is written by Greek-Swedish composer Alex Papaconstantinou. His long list of music collaborations include the likes of Enrique Inglesias and Jennifer Lopez.
Despite enjoying international success, Alex has signed his name to a few Eurovision fan favourites as well, such as Helena Paparizou and her old group Antique.
Sadly, due to demanding schedule Eleni will not be partaking in the promo tour ahead of the contest. That means she will miss out on the Amsterdam, London, Riga, Tel Aviv and Madrid concerts.
What do you think of Eleni’s “Fuego”? How do you imagine the performance? Do you think Sacha will be able to capture the energy of the song on stage? Is Cyprus among your ten qualifiers in the first semi final? Where is “Fuego” in your Top 43?
