Today we have reviews of Belgian entry, ‘A Matter of Time’ by Sennek, from Matt, Nick, Simon, Tom and Yassia. Let’s get started!

The Reviews

Matt

The obvious comparison to a James Bond theme is fair but I can only see that as a positive. Sennek exudes class and I can’t wait to see what Belgium bring to the stage to compliment the song.

Nick

Every year needs a proper Bond theme. Belgium are truly delivering this year. Sennek looks like Alanis Morissette, sounds like a jazzed up/Bond worthy Hooverphonic singer and brings us a credible track. Belgium have found their way and I’m delighted for them. With the proper staging, this is a full on contender for victory. For a midtempo/ballad, it’s also quite catchy. The chorus managed to get stuck in my head on the first listen. Fantastic, well done Belgium.

Simon

Sennek’s voice gives you a reason to listen – it doesn’t sound like you’ve heard her or the song before. The chorus is a bit of a messy confusion, but the verses are rather enticing.

Tom

Belgium with Sennek brings some real class to the competition and yet again shows this country is one to watch at Eurovision. When this song was released I wanted to play it again and again but now maybe it’s fallen behind. Can it grab people’s attention on the night? Hope so.

Yassia

Again not my type of a song. I like that it’s meant to be a bit more original though. The chorus is even somehow irritating for me. Don’t ask me why, as it’s difficult to explain. Last year I liked Belguim so much better.
