Yesterday on 7th of June, three Eurovision singers celebrated their birthday. Today there are also three Eurovision artist that have a birthday. All three of them have a successful singing career, and are actually more known for other songs than their Eurovision entry. Bonnie Tyler, Katy Garbi and Amaury Vassili were born on this day!
Bonnie Tyler, 67
United Kingdom went with the world famous singer Bonnie Tyler in 2013. She is well know for songs like “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out For a Hero”. However, her Eurovision entry, “Believe In Me”, was not as memorable at the voting. Because the song only got 23 points at the final and thus finished 19th at the contest in Malmö, Sweden.
Katy Garbi, 57
Greece picked Cypriot/Greek Katarina Garbi to go on their behalf to Ireland in 1993. Therefore she sang “Ellada, hora tou fotos” on stage in Millstreet. Her song was quite popular and reached the 9th place. She has since had a great career in music and made several multi-platinum releases.

Amaury Vassili, 29
France decided to let Opera singer Amaury perform at Eurovision in 2011. That is, he sang “Sognu” at the final in Düsseldorf, Germany. The entry was sung in Corsican. Despite being the one to beat favorite to win, the song ended in 15th place. Before this he had released a double platium album called Vincerò.
