Eurovision winner Lena goes Latino with new summer single “Sólo Contigo”

Listen to Lena's collaboration with Topic and Juan Magan right now!

Over eight years ago, Lena gave Germany their second Eurovision Song Contest victory. Still a major force in the German music industry, Lena now has a string of successful singles and four top two albums to her name. Indeed, Lena’s previous single If I Wasn’t Your Daughter hit #1 on German iTunes last year! Now, she is back with a brand new single: Sólo Contigo!

A week of teasing

Last Friday, Lena teased a new project on her Twitter page. She didn’t give much away, except that whatever the project was would arrive on June 22nd. Of course, being a Friday this lends itself to being a new music release as part of the worldwide New Music Fridays initiative. And so it proved to be! Today, Lena released her brand new single Sólo Contigo in collaboration with Topic and Juan Magan. Check it out below!

Lena goes Latino

Sólo Contigo is a departure from the electro-pop sound Lena has pursued in previous singles such as Lost In You, Traffic Lights and Beat To My Melody. This is undoubtedly a result of collaborating with Topic and Juan Magan, especially for this track. Topic rose to fame in 2016 with the platinum-selling single Home featuring Nico Santos which charted highly in his home nation of Germany as well as in Australia and Austria. Most recently he collaborated with Fifth Harmony star Ally Brooke on the single Perfect.
Juan Magan is a Spanish megastar with a string of top 10 hits in Spain over the past ten years. Outside of Spain, he’s perhaps most well known for featuring on Inna’s single Un Momento which charted in several European countries. Over the past few years, Juan has collaborated with the likes of Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull and Paulina Rubio. Now he adds Lena and Topic to this illustrious list!

Fifth album on the way?

Lena is currently in the process of completing her fifth studio album, tentatively titled Gemini. There is currently no sign of a release date, but the first two singles from the project were released last year. First single Lost In You was released in April 2017. This was quickly followed up by If I Wasn’t Your Daughter two months later, which coincided with an emotional debut television performance of the song on German television series Sing meinen Song. The performance was received extremely well by viewers and the track hit #1 on German iTunes immediately!
