Netta remixes “Havana”, “Rude Boy” and “Barbie Girl” for America’s iHeartRadio

Following her victory, it was revealed that Netta would embark on a promotional tour in the United States… and she certainly is doing exactly that! A couple of weeks ago, the Israeli Eurovision winner performed on The Today Show. She swiftly made her way to Billboard for some more exclusive contest. Now, Netta has teamed up with iHeartRadio for a cover session!

Havana, ooh na na!

Yes, one of the United States’ most popular radio networks, iHeartRadio, challenged Netta to the iHeartRadio Party Wheel. Whichever songs the wheel landed on, Netta had to remix them with nothing but her voice and her looper!

Netta took three spins of the wheel, landing on Havana by Camila Cabello (2017), Rude Boy by Rihanna (2009) and finally Barbie Girl by Aqua (1997). Three pop classics from three different decades! See how our 2018 Eurovision winner fared by watching the video below.

Making history

Back in May, Netta Barzilai became the fourth act to win the Eurovision Song Contest for Israel. She followed in the footsteps of Izhar Cohen & the Alphabeta (1978), Gali Atari & Milk and Honey (1979) and Dana International (1998). The trio performed A-Ba-Na-Bi, Hallelujah and Diva respectively.

Netta’s performance of TOY in Lisbon earned Israel 529 points, 93 more than second-placed Fuego, performed by Eleni Foureira from Cyprus. Netta also won the first semi-final with a lead of 21 points, once again, over Eleni and Fuego. Both tracks achieved European chart success following their Eurovision participation.
