Junior Eurovision: HC Dinamo Minsk to move to another arena during contest

Move will involve three matches

Belarusian hockey team HC Dinamo Minsk will not play three matches at Minsk Arena to leave room for preparation and hosting of the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Chizhovka Arena to be used instead

Minsk Arena, this year’s venue for Junior Eurovision, is the base for hockey team HC Dinamo Minsk. In order to ensure that adequate preparation and a successful hosting of the show take place, the team will relocate to another arena in the capital. For three matches, the team will play at Chizovka arena instead of Minks Arena. The games involved are against the following teams:

  • Traktor Chelyabinsk on November 12
  • Metallurg Magnitogorsk on November 14
  • Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg on November 16

The contest will also feature three returning countries: France, that last participated in 2004, Azerbaijan that last participated in 2013 and Israel that last participated in 2016. Unfortunately, two countries that participated last year, Cyprus and Ukraine, both confirmed their withdrawal from the competition.
