Yerevan 2022🇲🇰 North Macedonia

Lara feat. Jovan & Irina release “Životot E Pred Mene”

The duo of Lara and Irina has become a trio with the addition of Jovan.

MRT, the national broadcaster of North Macedonia, were the second to confirm their representative for Junior Eurovision 2022. Back in August, Lara Trpčeska and Irina Davidovska were announced as the North Macedonian representatives for Yerevan. Since the announcement, Jovan has been added to the act.

Earlier this year, MRT held an open call for children aged between 9-14 to audition at the MRT Studios in Skopje. During the auditions, invited acts performed two songs of their choosing. Meanwhile a professional committee assessed the auditions on a number of criteria, including – vocal, artistic and scenic quality. Following this, MRT chose both Lara Trpčeska and Irina Davidovska. Jovan was later added to the act and features on the song.

Lara has a history of music competitions. Previously she placed runner-up in the Tartini international singing contest, and in 2018 won the Polyhymnia music contest in Skopje. Whilst Irina performs with the Piccolo children’s choir. The two became friends on the festival circuit in 2018.

“Životot E Pred Mene” (Life is ahead of me), North Macedonia’s entry for Junior Eurovision 2022, was released last night. It was first released on Dnevnik 2 on MRT 2, followed by an online release.

In the inaugural contest they placed 12th – a position they know too well, with eight 12th places overall. The best results for the Balkan nation came in 2007 and 2008 with top 5 finishes for ‘Ding Ding Dong‘ and ‘Prati mi SMS‘.

Last year a selection of singers from Dajte muzika, an MRT co-production, were selected to represent North Macedonia in Paris. During the contest they placed 9th with 114 points for the climate focused entry, ‘Green Forces’.
