Israel begins its search for their Junior Eurovision 2018 participant

Now that Israel have secured the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 hosting rights, attentions turn to selecting their representative for the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 to be held in Minsk, Belarus in November. With Israel returning to the competition after a year away, the right entrant will be carefully selected after an open submission process. Who will represent Israel at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018? Only time will tell… but it could be you if you apply!

KAN have opened submissions for young artists who are interested in representing Israel at Junior Eurovision later this autumn. Following the official rules of the competition, the Israeli broadcaster has asked for singers aged between 9 and 14 to submit their details via a news article on their website.

Auditions will take place to select the best candidate to represent Israel at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 from the applications submitted to KAN.

Israel make their third appearance

After débuting in 2012 with Kids.il finishing 8th with “Let the Music Win”, Israel took a break for the following three editions of the competition.

“Let the Music Win” scored 68 points and finished in 8th place.

A much anticipated return to the contest was made in 2016 with the duo Shir & Tim and their bilingual song “Follow My Heart”. Unfortunately, the entry finished 15th with 27 points.

Israel are following in the footsteps of Portugal who last year, returned to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest immediately after gaining their first win at the Eurovision Song Contest. Portugal will continue their participation in the Junior contest this year after finishing 14th with the song “YouTuber” last year in Tbilisi.
