Eurovision Prediction🇨🇿 Czechia

YOU have predicted Giudi to win ESCZ 2022!

Have our players predicted the correct Czech winner for the first time?

Over the last past two weeks, you have been submitting your predictions for the first and round of Eurovision Prediction 2022. In our first national final of the season, you were asked to predict the winner of ESCZ. Now, let’s take a look at who you collectively expect to win the Czech ticket to Turin!

Having internally-selected Benny Cristo for Eurovision 2021, ČT have returned to their public selection format. While the selection still will not involve live performances and real-time voting like other national finals do, this year we got to see the entries performed via a live-on-tape.

The seven lucky finalists pre-recorded their performances in a format similar to the Live on Tape backup used for Eurovision 2021. This gave the public a chance to assess artists’ vocals and the Czech Republic’s best shot at Eurovision success.

Voting opened on December 7 and closed yesterday (15 December). An international jury will decide 50% of the vote, and the international and Czech public will decide the remainder of the vote (25% each). We will find out the winner and official Czech representative today (16 December)!

During this round of Eurovision Prediction 2022, 481 of you have predicted who you think will take victory in the Czech Republic. Without further ado, here are the entries that YOU have predicted to win in order of frequency, from most to least:

Back in 2020, almost 1/3 of our players predicted that We All Poop would win ESCZ 2020. Meanwhile, eventual winner Benny Cristo received only 11% of the predictions. Back in 2019, only 13% of our players accurately predicted Lake Malawi’s win. In short, our players don’t have the best track record for predicting Czech national selections…will that change this year?

Members of the ESCXTRA team may be disappointed by this result, as they selected We Are Domi’s “Lights Off” as their winner in our XTRA Decides feature.

After each national final, the points will be assigned and you will receive a rankings update via our Eurovision Prediction platform. Furthermore, we will make sure to notify you via our Eurovision Prediction Facebook page, our Eurovision Prediction Twitter page and here on the ESCXTRA website. The player that accumulates the most points after all the rounds have taken place will be crowned the winner of Eurovision Prediction 2022!

In 2021, our 363 prediction players predicted the correct national winners 7 out of 13 times. The year before, in 2020, 10 of out 27 times…an all-time low. To be fair, 2020 was a very unpredictable year in general. In 2019, our Eurovision Prediction players collectively predicted 16 out of 29 national final winners correctly. In 2018, your record was 19 out of 30.

So far, we count 26 national finals for 2022, so there will be PLENTY of points up for grabs!
