Yet another Greek singer has put their name into the mix for Eurovision. Speaking on Open’s ‘Summer #not” programme, Malou Kyriakopoulou has expressed her interest to take part in Eurovision but only with the right song.
The 2011 Greek Idol runner-up released her new single “Agýristo Kefáli” (Αγύριστο Κεφάλι) last week and she spoke about a possible Eurovision participation on Greek TV while discussing the single release.
“I will say the cliché”
The Greek singer, who was a member of Brazilian group Aloha Brazil, before signing to Cobalt Music in 2011, said she “would try” Eurovision with the right song that would promote her music to a wider platform.
I will say the cliché that everyone says. If there is a song that I’d like and it will make me exposed to so many people… I would try it!

According to Eurovision Fun, her name has appeared on the shortlist for Greece and Cyprus in Eurovision many times however it is the first time she has expressed her interest publicly. She did not clarify which country she would like to represent in the contest, if she were to take part.
A big month coming in November
This year, November will be a big month for Cyprus and Greece in their preparation for Eurovision 2021. Cyprus’ RIK have confirmed that they will reveal their act for Rotterdam in November, with names like Ivi Adamou and Vangelis Kakouriotis on the shortlist.
Greece’s Stefania, who was due to represent Greece this year before the contest was cancelled, is also rumoured to be releasing her Eurovision entry in November. The as-yet-untitled ‘dance pop’ song, is thought to be written by Dimitris Kontopoulos.
After Malou expressed her interest, will she be added to either the Cypriot or Greek shortlists in the future?
