HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion to select the Israeli 2019 entry

The show “HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion” has been confirmed to be used again to select the Israeli representative for the Eurovision Song Contest! New this year: The show will also select the song and not just the artist for the upcoming host country.

Will the success continue?

Since using “HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion” as the national selection show in 2015, Israel always qualified for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Of course, they wanna keep it this way. The council of KAN (broadcaster) now approved to use the show again in 2019. 

Some changes will happen in 2019 as not only the artist will be selected via “HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion“, but also the song will be chosen in three shows on KAN. In the past years, the song was always selected internally. Moreover, there will also be a Spin-Off. Another competition will be held with the winner qualifying for the final of “HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion“! More details will be announced later.
