The broadcaster responsible for Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest LTV, have released the songs that made the live audition phase of their National Final, Supernova.
LTV have revealed that a total of 33 songs that made the live audition phase of Supernova. These songs were performed in front of a panel of judges. These judges will help narrow down these songs down to 16 songs. The 16 songs will go on to the live Semi-Finals stage of Supernova and will be competing for a place in the Final and thus try to win the Latvian ticket for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, which will take place in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
The jury in this live audition phase were
- Executive director of “Latvian Music Development Society / Latvian Music Export” – Agnese Cimuška-Rekke,
- Producer and musician of Radio SWH programme – Artis Dvarionas,
- Chairman of Supernova jury, “Latvijas Radio 5 – Pieci.lv” DJ – DJ Rudd,
- Ilze Jansone – producer of Supernova 2019.
How these 33 were selected.
LTV received 83 songs, of which 64 songs complied with the competition rules and were evaluated by a jury. The panel was composed of representatives of the music label “Universal Music Group” and representatives of leading Latvian radio stations, After the first round, in which the jury listened to songs blind (so without knowing the singers, songwriters or producers), 33 participants were invited to the second round.

You can help LTV decide on the 16 songs that will compete in the live Semi Finals by voting on the songs. To vote click this link. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and login by using either registering for an account on LTV or using social media platforms, Facebook or Twitter. Once you are logged in, click the song you want to evaluate. Once you do so, you can click either the green “Par” or “For” button or the red “Pret” or “Against” button. You can also leave feedback on the songs using the text box provided between the video window and the like/dislike boxes.
The lineup for the live shows will be announced by LTV on 6th December 2018.
