One week has passed since the Grand Final of the Junior Eurovision 2018. Despite the short period, 6 countries have already expressed their will to be part of the next edition of the competition.
Among them we find Georgia, as GPB has confirmed their intention to participate in 2019. The place where Junior Eurovision 2019 will take place is still unknown. In the last edition of the contest we saw a record of 20 participating
GPB confirms the return of ‘Ranina’ for 2019
GPB has confirmed Ranina as the selection method for 2019. The auditions for Ranina 2019 will be held at GPB studios at 12:00 on December 8 and 9. The candidates must be between 8 and 14 years old.
This year, 10 young performers fighted for the chance to represent Georgia in Minsk. Ranina consisted of eleven shows and lasted for over three months. The show started with the heats, where the young singers performed with an Orchestra and well known Georgian singers.
Georgia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Georgia debuted in the contest in 2007. Despite the short history of the show, Georgia has won it three times, in the following years: 2008, 2011 and 2016. Among 12 appearances, Georgia has only placed outside the top 10 once, in 2014. Last week Tamar Edilashvili represented Georgia with the song “Your voice”, placing 8th out of 20 countries.
