Though no official reason was stated in the announcement, Montenegro’s non-participation in 2019 was due to budget issues, as was Montenegro’s withdrawal in Eurovision 2020.

RTCG has yet to publicly confirm this information or make any further comment regarding this.

As of August 1, thirteen countries have confirmed their participation in the 2020 contest:

  • Belarus
  • France
  • Georgia
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Kazakhstan
  • Malta
  • Netherlands
  • Poland
  • Russia
  • Serbia
  • Spain
  • Ukraine
