ESCXTRA are live from Lisbon for day 2 of rehearsals ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018! The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are F.Y.R. Macedonia, Croatia, Austria, Greece, Finland, Armenia, Switzerland, Ireland and Cyprus.

In addition, for our immediate reactions to every single rehearsal, you can follow our live stream from the press centre at the Altice Arena by visiting our YouTube channel.
The next artist to rehearse is Zibbz. We have just watched their first run through of Stones live on screen for Switzerland and here is our initial reaction.

Staging

The first thing I heard from the start of this “OOOH drums!”. Wiv is very pleased! Corinne is making great use of the bridges of the stage, firstly using the left bridge for the first chorus, then the right bridge for the second. It really feels more like you’re at some sort of gig with her rather than at Eurovision, and we absolutely adore it! There’s also a lot of dragging the microphone stand around – Corinne really seems very rebellious here and she absolutely owns it. She even climbs onto the bass drum of Stefan’s drumkit!
Update: In the final run through, Corinne and Stefan are both holding flares, beating the air with them, whilst Corinne shouts “This is for everybody who has ever been hurt!”. It looks SO cool.

Vocals

The vocals are absolutely flawless. Corinne managed to absolutely ace this rehearsal, with very little help from backing vocals. There were SOME backing vocals, but Corinne’s vocals are just so flawless that you barely even notice that they are there!

Costumes

Stefan is wearing his usual leather jacket with white shirt underneath. Corinne is dressed rather unusually: a very short top made of strings, with skinny jeans and a maroon hat. She looks VERY sexy, but this possibly isn’t….the best audience for that, if you get what I mean. There are lots of tassles hanging from both her and her microphone stand. Overall, the costumes are fantastic but they don’t seem to completely match.

Watch the rehearsal!
