The best day of the week arrived! Correct –  it is Friday and the weekend is close. Moreover, it is New Music Friday, which means we get brand new bops from all over the Eurovision world to get us one step closer to all the other Eurovision events we all look forward to. Ilse DeLange releases new single “Lay Your Weapons Down”

Ilse DeLange has today released her new single Lay Your Weapons Down, taken from her upcoming self-titled solo album. Ilse, alongside Waylon as The Common Linnets, finished second in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.  Lay Your Weapons Down Ilse’s first single release OK back in March was her first solo single in five years. OK charted inside the top 40 of the official Dutch singles chart. Her second single Lay Your Weapons Down gives a further taste of what to expect from her new album. First solo album in six years After spending all her time on The Common Linnets and other projects since 2014, Ilse is now releasing her first solo album in six years with the self-titled Ilse DeLange due for release on August 31st. She’ll then follow this with a ‘club’ tour around The Netherlands and a special show at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome. Ilse released her first album in 1998 titled World of Hurt. The country singer recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of the album release with a special concert at Koninklijk Theater Carré in Amsterdam. WATCH: Mandinga’s latest single “Arquitectura”

With summer bringing the heat at full blast across Europe, Romanian group Mandinga makes a refreshing splash with their latest release “Arquitectura” and the accompanying music video. Tu arquitectura ay dios mio que locura… Arquitectura is a pop-dance song with a latin flare. In addition, it is sung entirely in Spanish. Needless to say, it ticks all the boxes of a hit and it’s bound to be heard at more than just a few parties this summer! The music video follows the ‘choreographed dancing at a gritty club’ trend, and lead singer Barbara Isasi truly brings the song to life. Mandinga at Eurovision Mandinga represented Romania in 2012 with the song “Zaleilah”. During the semi-final, their previous lead singer Elena Ionescu suffered technicial difficulties with her in-ear. However, they still managed to qualify. Despite being big fan favorites, Mandinga narrowly missed out on a top ten finish, ultimately placing 12th. Lastly, here’s a fun fact: Elena Gheorghe, Romania’s 2009 representative, used to be the lead singer of the group. Small world, huh? Are you enjoying “Arquitectura”? LISTEN: Lindita releases “Murda”

Earlier today, Lindita announced on Instagram that she would be dropping a new song in only a few hours! Only a couple of hours later, the link to “Murda” appeared on her facebook, and we haven’t been abe to stop listening to it since! Summer beats: “Murda” This is a summer song, as hot as they come. On this track, Lindita gets to show off her amazing voice as never before. We don’t know about you, but we are sure having trouble sitting still! Hips and shoulders just suddenly have lives of their own. And we don’t mind! On her facebook she also shares a fun fact about the song; It was (co-)produced by a 10 year old! Fun fact : It was produced by a 10 year old producer LIL NEO <3 the son of Eric Nealante Phillips !!!! Azerbaijan’s 2018 representative, Aisel, has today released the music video for brand new single ‘More Emotion’. Fresh from her Eurovision experience, The 29 year old not only serves vocals on the new single, but also wrote the song’s lyrics and music, alongside Givi Usenashvili. ‘More Emotion‘ fits the summer temperatures beautifully, with its ambient pop sound and catchy hook. Aisel represented Azerbaijan at this year’s contest with ‘X My Heart‘.  Despite failing to reach the grand final, the song’s official music video has since reached over 2 million views on YouTube. Summer isn’t just the time for enjoying the sunshine, relaxing by the sea and drinking piña coladas. No, it’s also the time to enjoy the sunshine, relax by the sea, drink piña coladas AND have someone film it all and turn it into a music video.  The summer hits just keep on coming and next to treat us is the bubbly Lea Sirk herself with her new single “Moj profil” (My profile). A song that has already grabbed a few awards in Slovenia! It’s a catchy and upbeat summer bop that also manages to take a slight jab at the dominance of social media and our obsession with looking perfect online. The song comes complete with a brand new music video featuring some interesting Adam & Eve imagery and asks us to spare our phones from the heat and instead enjoy the summer by throwing apples into the sea and covering our nether regions with nothing but a leaf. Honestly, in this heat that isn’t such a bad idea. The song has already netted Lea a nice new trophy and is sure to become a big hit. Listen: BONES (The Remixes) EP is out!

Bulgaria’s Equinox were aong the favorites to win the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon with their wonderful, mesmerizing track, “Bones“. At the contest they finished in a very surprising and disappointing 14th place. Was it perhaps a bit too moody and introvert? Did people wanna dance?! Well, now they can!  Four Bones remixes Equinox have just released four official remixes of “Bones”, and if you can’t dance to these there’s no hope! Especially the Dagge Dance Mix is bound to become a hit on the dancefloors across the Euroverse and beyond! Variation The four remixes are quite different from each other, and the remixers all have their own take on the song. We do have a favorite, but we’re not gonna tell you which one as we’d rather you decide for yourself! Lisandro announces new album

Last May, Lisandro Cuxi, one of the favourite of Destination Eurovision 2018, annouced that he was working on a second album. While much is still unknown about this future production, Lisandro has given us some hints. #Album2 On May 13th, the day after the Eurovision Final, Lisandro Cuxi tweeted a video where he revealed his intention to release a second album “very quickly”. His first album, Ma bonne étoile, was released in September 2017. But now, he has signed with Monstre Marin Corporation, a label created by Maître Gims, one of the most successful French artist and rapper nowadays. Albania’s Orgesa Zaimi releases the videoclip for her Festivali i Këngës entry

In December, Orgesa Zaimi entered the running to represent Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Despite not winning Festivali i Këngës and then the ticket to Lisbon, she has been a huge favourite among the Eurovision fans. The irreverence of her style and the energy and positivity of her song earned her many fans around Europe. After all these months, we can finally watch the videoclip of “Ngrije zërin”.  The videoclip In the videoclip we can see Orgesa Zaimi with a more classy style, wearing a beautiful red dress. She is joined by several people of different ages and cultures, transmitting us a message of diversity and unity. The strongest point of her live act was Orgesa’s energetic and powerful performance and that energy isn’t lost with the videoclip with everyone singing and dancing to her song. We didn’t manage to see her performing in Lisbon, but we can still appreciate this beautiful and positive entry. Who knows, we may just see Orgesa Zaimi in the Eurovision stage in the future? LISTEN: Friðrik Dór and Jón Jónsson release duet(s) for Þjóðhátið 2018

Brothers Jón Jónsson and Friðrik Dór have released two songs together this summer; both are official songs for one of the largest annual music events in Iceland; Þjóðhátíð. Every year an artist, or a group of artists, get the job of writing an original song for the festival. This year, the job went to the brothers, and they decided they might as well write TWO new songs. They normally don’t make music together, so people eagerly awaited the releases!  Þjóðhátíð/The National Festival First though; What is Þjóðhátíð? It is a four day festival that takes place on Heimaey, the largest of the Westman Islands. It is organized every year, during the weekend before the first Monday in August. The main focus of the festival is music, and there’s everything from big stage concerts to the most massive singalong you can imagine! On the Sunday night there’s a singalong event that gathers up to 16.000 people in the valley. Þjóðhátíð song(s) 2018 One of the songs, “Á sama tíma, á sama stað (At the same time, at the same place” is a rather traditional song for the Hational festival.
