The latest artist to rehearse is AWS for Hungary. We have just watched their first run through of Viszlát Nyár live on screen and here is our initial reaction.

Staging

The performance begins with quick camera shots consisting of each band member before switching to a wide shot of them rocking out before the vocals start. Once the vocals do begin, the camera focuses on the lead vocalist but we see one of the guitarists performing from the bridge. The lighting is blue for the verses, turning gold for each chorus with the addition of white strobe lighting.
For the second verse, the lead vocalists move onto the outer ring of the stage. The camera shots continue to switch between the outer ring and the band on the main stage. As the heavy metal middle 8 begins, the guitarist moves onto the outer ring before crowd surfing for a few seconds. The vocalist then runs back over to the main stage to conclude the performance.

Vocals

This style of music or vocal will not please everyone. Nevertheless, the band sounded identical to the studio version and should be commended.

Costumes

AWS’ lead singer takes to the stage barefooted, wearing a green jacket, maroon headband and a blue longline top with dark trousers. The band’s drummer is in a pale blue tank top. The rest of the band are in casual “indie-style” clothing ensembles.
