The latest artist to rehearse for the second time is Ari Ólafsson for Iceland. We have just watched their latest run through of Our Choice live on screen and here is our initial reaction.

Staging

Ari hasn’t changed anything today. He stands centre stage with a mic-stand and is flanked by five backing singers – two male, three female. The final chorus has again the gold lighting which gives the last 30 seconds or so a real lift.

Camera shots in this performance: 35

Vocal

His vocal quality is as strong as it always is, there’s no doubt that Ari can really sing.

Costume

The costume is, unfortunately, unchanged. The white jacket has returned with its red metro map print, as has the red turtleneck.

To qualify or not to qualify?

We have taken a flash poll from around the ESCXTRA table here in the press centre and  9 out of 9 of us say…

NO!
