In addition, for our immediate reactions to every single rehearsal, you can follow our live stream from the press centre at the Altice Arena by visiting our YouTube channel.
The latest artist to rehearse for the second time is Waylon for The Netherlands. We have just watched their latest run through of Outlaw in ‘Em live on screen and here is our initial reaction.

Staging

The staging for the Netherlands is the exact same as in the first rehearsal…yes, the bizarre dancing has been kept in the performance. As a reminder:
Waylon is joined by four dancers on a podium. He is standing a bit higher than the others. Waylon is only standing on his higher podium with his guitar and sings while his dancers dance around him. Later one dancer does backflips on the catwalk. In the beginning, his dancers are “playing” guitars and one on the drums, before they drop off the podium.

Camera shots in this performance: 53

Vocals

Waylon’s vocals are undeniably perfect for this and the backing vocals work well with the lead singer.

Costume

Waylon and his backing dancers’ outfits are the exact same as they were in the first rehearsal – Waylon has kept the cheetah print jacket.

To qualify or not to qualify?

We have taken a flash poll from around the ESCXTRA table here in the press centre and 8 out of 9 of us say…

YES!
