Rosa Linn’s “Snap” becomes most-streamed Eurovision 2022 entry

The song is now the 9th most-streamed Eurovision entry of all time

Earlier this Summer, we reported that Rosa Linn’s “Snap” had gone viral on TikTok and began to surge up the Spotify charts, accumulating considerably more streams than it had been getting in the weeks surrounding the contest. In July, the song entered the UK Top 40 for the first time, and has now become the most-streamed entry of the 2022 contest.

Back in July, Official Charts has reported that “Snap” had broken into the UK Top 40, which has included streaming data since 2014. With this, “Snap” became the second highest-charting Eurovision song of the year in the UK, only behind Sam Ryder’s “SPACE MAN”, which peaked at number 2 back in May. Since then, the song has remained in the chart, and at the time of writing sits at a peak position of 23.

Last week, the song reached 110 million streams, surpassing Mahmood and Blanco’s “Brividi” in Spotify streams, making it the most-streamed song of the 2022 contest. This also means that “Snap” is the 9th most-streamed Eurovision entry of all time!

Earlier this month, Rosa announced that she had signed with Columbia Records.

The power of TikTok

According to the TikTok x Eurovision newsletter, which was sent to members of the Eurovision press on May 4, Rosa’s TikTok (@rosalinnmusic) had 5k followers and 85k likes. Two months later, she had 50.5k followers and 1.2 million likes. Numbers aren’t everything, but this is an impressive jump.

At the time of writing, she now has 510.3k followers and 9 million likes.

Much of this is seemingly driven by a sped up edit being used as a sound across the platform, which has amassed over 865k videos at the time of writing. She has since released a “SNAP PACK” EP on Spotify, which includes different variations and remixes of the song – including the “High and Fast” version, which has over 21 million streams in its own right.
