Back in March, Lee Smithurst announced the team behind the staging for the United Kingdom’s entry for the 2021 the contest. This week, the 5 people joining James for his performance of “Embers” have been revealed. James has also teased what we can expect from his staging.

The United Kingdom will have four dancers joining James on stage for his performance of “Embers” at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. He will be joined by Israel, Shaun, Yves and Alex for his performance in the Grand Final in Rotterdam on May 22nd. In preparation, he has been taking boxing lessons and training ahead of the performance. He will be flying out to Rotterdam on Thursday 13 May.

I’ve been practising choreography and I’ve got a set routine that I’ve been working on…It’s gonna be a fun time, it’s gonna be high energy, it’s gonna be a party on stage.

About “Embers”

James Newman is representing the United Kingdom with “Embers”, a song written by Newman himself, as well as Conor Blake, Danny Shah, Tom Hollings and Samuel Brennan. Grammy nominated songwriter Conor Blake had major international hits with Italian trio Meduza. Danny Shah has worked with David Guetta, Kylie Minogue and had four UK number-one hits as a songwriter. Samuel Brennan wrote songs to former Spice Girl Melanie C and French DJ Hugel among others.

On 11th March, BBC Radio 2 were the first to play James Newman’s Eurovision entry “Embers”. Clearly, the song was a success, because when Radio 2 released their New Music Playlist on March 19, “Embers” was on the A List. James has also recently released a “Behind the Scenes” video from the shoot of the music video for “Embers”.
