Today, the EBU gave a presentation in the Eurovision media center in Malmö to update the press about the next edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
The presentation, initially planned at 19h30 CEST, ended up starting thirty minutes earlier thanks to the cancellation of the Big Five and Host conference.
A few months ago, the EBU confirmed that Spain would host the 22nd Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC), in late 2024. Despite winning the 2023 edition on home soil, in Nice, France decided not to host the contest two years in a row. The EBU then invited RTVE, the Spanish broadcaster, to host the contest, as Spain finished second, behind France.
The host city was announced to be in Madrid, the Spanish capital city. The venue will be the Caja Mágica, the Olympic Tennis Center south of Madrid.
