Liverpool 2023 branding turned into merchandise for Children In Need

The bags will go on sale November 24

The Liverpool 2023 team has announced that banners and flags with Eurovision 2023 host city branding, have become must-have memorabilia for tote bag collectors with proceeds going towards the BBC charity telethon Children In Need to support young people in Liverpool

Banners and flags to become exclusive Eurovision bags

Over 100 banners and flags that were used to welcome visitors to the host city of Eurovision 2023, have been turned into exclusive, one-of-a-kind Liverpool 2023 merchandise. The street branding has been repurposed into limited edition commemorative bags, with the proceeds of the sales going to BBC’s Children In Need. Since 1980, the BBC’s UK charity has raised over £1bn to support young people from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds throughout the United Kingdom. In a fitting gesture, the money raised through the sales of the bags will be distributed across 13 projects in Liverpool being supported by Children In Need.

This will amount to over £662,000 to support young people with challenges in their lives that range from emergency support to families, those living in poverty and lost or alone, ensuring children feel safe, secure and providing comfort in times of need, as well as assisting children to overcome social injustice.

On Friday November 24 at 10am (GMT), lucky fans will be able to go to the BBC Children In Need shop to purchase one of the limited edition bags. This will include – premium tote bags, two types of small multi-purpose bags and lightweight shoppers. However, due to their exclusivity, only one purchase per transaction will be permitted. Any resale of the items will be strictly prohibited. Of course, these items will only be available to buyers in the United Kingdom.

Prices of the items will range from £20-£100. Those purchasing should be aware that due to wear and tear through their original use as street branding, there may be imperfections and signs of weathering on the items.
